China National Intellectual Property Administration Trademark Bureau held a themed centralized publicity event on “Trademark Brands Supporting ‘Belt and Road’ Economic and Trade Cooperation”
Experts from the Ministry of Commerce’s International Trade and Economic Cooperation Research Institute, the China Intellectual Property Research Association, and heads of relevant departments of the Trademark Office gave lectures on brand economy and international economic and trade competition, prevention and control of overseas trademark registration, trademark legal systems in countries along the Belt and Road, classification of goods and services related to the “three new” economy, and practical operations and difficult problems in Madrid trademark international registration applications. About 100 representatives of enterprises and intellectual property agencies in Zhejiang Province, representatives of intellectual property management departments and business acceptance windows in Zhejiang Province, cities and districts, and representatives of relevant departments such as Yiwu Commerce, Customs, Procuratorate, and Court participated in the lectures and interacted with the lecturers. The guests on site said that the content of this lecture was targeted and instructive, and it was a “timely rain” that injected new momentum into intellectual property for the development of economic and trade cooperation, international trade and other related industries in the Belt and Road region. The lecture course was also broadcast live online, with 374,000 online viewers on the same day.
After the lecture, to further implement the requirements of the Party Central Committee and the State Council to support the development of the private economy, “listening to the voice of enterprises and solving problems for the masses,” on the morning of the 25th, the Trademark Bureau held a business meeting for enterprises on trademarks in the local area to hear opinions and suggestions from enterprises. Du Hongyu, Party Committee Standing Committee Member and First Inspector of the Trademark Bureau, attended the meeting. Leaders from relevant sections of the Trademark Bureau and lecture experts provided detailed answers to questions from representatives of multiple enterprises and intellectual property agencies, and seriously listened to opinions and suggestions from all sectors of society on trademark work. Zhejiang, city, and district intellectual property management related staff attended the meeting.
Since 2018, with the continuous deepening of the reform of trademark registration convenience, the Trademark Bureau has held concentrated lecture activities for many years to help the public understand the reform measures and enjoy the benefits of the reform, interpreting reform policies to applicants, intellectual property system workers, and intellectual property service professionals, and teaching trademark business knowledge. The cumulative number of online and offline participants has exceeded 4.3 million. In the future, the Trademark Bureau will continue to deepen reform and expand the effectiveness of lectures, working with all sectors of society to create a business environment that “respects knowledge value and protects intellectual property,” contributing the power of trademark brands to accelerate the development of new quality productive forces, open up new tracks for economic development, and form new advantages in international competition.
